Evolved Resolve is a virtual exhibition curated by Female Design Council founder Lora Appleton for the September 2020 LA Design Festival. We are thrilled to partner with Incollect, who is providing the platform to share this extraordinary group of works. Together, we make it clear that the womxn design community pauses for no one.
This stellar collection of works consists of furniture, art, sculpture, lighting, jewelry, and ceramics, with a focus on strong and unique forms. Womxn-made and designed, masterful in construction, at times delicate and subversive, these pieces reflect the spirit, and dedication of our makers.
In response to the critical lockdown due to Covid-19, many of our FDC members closed down their New York City and Los Angeles studios, design and art practices, showrooms, and shops. They found ways to create in makeshift corners, yards, and garages, finding unconventional means of continuing to foster their passion and craft during this most stressful time. Appleton brings these incredible designers and artists together for a collective celebration of work, power and perseverance.
This exceptional show is evidence that our community remains as creative as ever. Through bold expressions of craft, skillful construction, and bursts of color and texture, Evolved Resolve is humanity and resilience made tangible.

Hi there! My husband & I purchased a lot in NY high overlooking Lake Chautauqua in western NY. We hope to build in this next year and saw your “Fleurish” mobile – style chandelier & just LOVED it! How much does this type of lighting cost? We have champagne taste & a beer pocketbook, but we might stretch for such a stunning piece of art. If you have other similar designs, we would love to see them. It would be an honor to own one of your pieces. Marge & Dave Switala
