Michele Varian Lighting Here are some things you need to know to care for your item. Michele Varian lighting is handmade. This means that your item will have distinguishing marks from the manufacturing process that are not considered imperfections. Please follow all instructions and labels on the fixtures including wattage limitations. All hardwiring should be installed by a licensed electrician. Michele Varian is not responsible for any applications or modifications made after delivery.

Brass, Copper, Steel (Uncoated) Dust regularly with a feather duster or soft dry cloth. Uncoated metals have a "live" finish and will develop a patina over time. Exposure to humidity and damp areas will expedite the process. Metal handled with bare hands will react to oil in your skin. If you prefer to restore your metal to its original luster you can use a metal polishing kit and follow the instructions indicated on the packaging. Dry your piece extremely well after polishing.

Brass, Copper, Steel (Lacquered) Dust with a feather duster or soft dry lint free cloth. This piece is coated with a clear polyurethane lacquer finish. Do not use any abrasives or cleaning products on coated fixtures. This will damage or remove the protective finish.

Powder Coated Metal Dust with a feather duster or soft dry lint free cloth. Do not use any abrasives or cleaning products on coated fixtures. This will damage or remove the applied finish.

Linen Linen lighting may need to be steamed after shipment and installation. Use a handheld steamer on the highest setting to relax wrinkles by gently going over the fabric in vertical sections. Do not pull or tug on the fabric or hold the steamer in one place for too long, as this will distort the shade. Use a lint roller or compressed air to clean dust off linen shades. Do not wet or attempt to wash your linen shade. Spot treat only.
