About Detroit Built Co. is a partnership between Michele and her fellow Detroit ex-pat, Jay Norris. Both of them grew up in Detroit and still have family and some of our dearest friends there. Michele curated a Detroit Built Pop-Up Shop at her shop in Soho back in 2014, showcasing the work of over 30 Detroit based Designer/makers. The products ranged from Denim to Leather Goods, Ceramics, Lighting and Furniture and much more.

The decision for Michele and Jay to partner in order to make a permanent Detroit Built Co. was made this summer, when they were both in Detroit at the same time. Jason's background in branding and events, paired with Michele's deep knowledge of design and craft manufacturing will help bring the story of the new Detroit Manufacturing to a broader audience, starting with NYC.
