Ingrid Abramovitch, Executive Editor, Elle Decor will moderate a lively panel talk and reception with Atlantic Avenue shop owners Shelley Simpson, Founder & Creative Director of Mud Australia, the porcelain homewares brand with a penchant for color and craftsmanship, alongside its neighbor on the avenue, Michele Varian, whose home goods store serves as a treasure trove  for many locally made and one-of-a-kind products, as well as Sarah Zames, principal of design firm Design Assembly and co-founder of Assembly Line.

The discussion will center on how our commercial corridor is home to a multitude of small, independently owned, Brooklyn-based design businesses, most of which are women-owned. Hear the stories of how this small stretch of Atlantic Avenue became a design destination and how to foster and sustain similar small businesses and communities.
